Eva spent five years supporting children and their parents within a large school board. Her focus was dealing with many childhood/youth challenges, such as behaviour needs, anxiety, grief and loss, family dynamics, toileting issues, social skill acquisition, emotional regulation, and self esteem (just to name a few!). Working with parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals, Eva creates customized support plans with proven success.
Eva believes in meeting families and individuals “where they are at.” Parents and children have their own set of unique abilities, perspectives and wisdom. By recognizing these strengths, Eva is able to help parents and children shift practices, develop new skills and set attainable goals. Treatment modalities may include aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Attachment-Based Therapy, as well as other evidence based practices. Bandit has been supporting WellNest in person children & youth clients since 2020. Bandit began as Eva and her families foster dog who they quickly adopted because of his gentle, calm and loving nature. Bandit has a love for playing fetch, running and swimming. Although very active outside, inside Bandit wants nothing but to comfort, be pet and to take a nap on your feet. He’s not shy and will gently ask for attention in the sweetest of ways. Bandit has helped many children and youth work through their fear of dogs in sessions. When he sees a child or youth who is struggling emotionally he intentionally comes to give comfort and support. He truly loves his job and being with children and youth of all ages. If your child/youth is coming for in person sessions you will be asked on the intake form if you’d like them to be given the option to have Bandit in sessions.
