Child/Youth & Family Therapy

It all begins with a relationship, someone your child or teen can trust and enjoys being with while fostering emotional intelligence. Is your child or teen struggling at home, school and/or in the community? Support can be in office, in your home, school, community or virtually (home, school and community visits only in GTA and includes an extra fee) All support is trauma informed and aims to meet your child where there are at currently.

For younger children often a therapeutic play & art based approach is used. Through play & art children are able to explore emotions, improve communication, problem solve and so much more. It is usually recommend children be at least six years old for one to one sessions. Sessions with children under 12 are usually recommended to be in person. At least one virtual session with just the parent(s) is required before meeting with the child. This is to share background information and to help you feel comfortable with your child receiving one-to-one support.

For youth over the age of 12, sessions can be virtually or in person. Supporting adolescents in personal growth, complex family matters, relationships and much more (listed below). A virtual session with parent(s) beforehand is recommend at times but based on the individual families needs.
